Are you new to Berlin and looking for a dentist? Would you like to change your current dental practice or take advantage of a special service? At KU64 in Berlin, you will find all dental services under one roof. This means that you always have the specialist at your side who can best solve your problem. Whether it’s preventive care or acute complaints such as toothache – during an initial examination, we will advise you on all questions relating to your dental health.

You should have these documents ready for your first visit.

We want everything to run smoothly at your first appointment. In order to provide you with comprehensive advice, we need a few documents when you register. Please bring the following documents with you to your initial examination:

Your insurance card

Your health insurance card proves that you have statutory health insurance. All your personal data is stored on the chip. If you have private health insurance, please bring your identity card with you.

Registration form and questionnaire for risk assessment

Before your first dental examination, we ask you to fill out a registration form. We use the registration and medical history form to record your contact details and information about your general state of health. This includes illnesses, allergies and the use of certain medications that may affect dental treatment. This information enables us to identify risk factors at an early stage and prevent complications. You will receive the registration form from our dental assistants at reception during your first visit.

bonus booklet

Your bonus booklet provides us with an overview of your previous dental check-ups. With your initial examination, you will receive another stamp in your bonus booklet. To fill the bonus booklet completely, you must attend a check-up at least once a year, and children must attend twice a year. If you have not missed a preventive appointment within five to ten years, you will receive a bonus subsidy for dental prostheses from your health insurance company. We take this information into account in your individual cost and treatment plan.

medical records

Have you had X-rays or 3D images, known as DVT images, taken of your teeth in recent years? If so, ask your dentist to provide them to you. Our dentists can take these images into account when assessing your dental health, thus avoiding the need for additional X-rays. Please also bring your X-ray passport with you to the check-up, if you have one.

Treatment and cost plans

Has another dentist already drawn up a treatment and cost plan (HKP) for your treatment? We recommend that you bring this with you to your first dental examination. It contains information about the condition of your teeth, the necessary treatment, the planned therapy and the expected costs, and can serve as a guide for our dentists for further contracts.

Medication passport and heart passport

Please inform us if you are currently taking medication or take medication on a regular basis. A look at your medication passport or the package insert for your medication will help us to assess any undesirable interactions in advance.

implant passport

Do you already have dentures, prostheses or other implants, such as a pacemaker? Please inform us of this and bring your heart passport, if available, with you to your initial examination at our practice.

allergy passport

Are you allergic and have you been given an allergy passport by your doctor? An intact immune system is an important factor, especially when it comes to dental prostheses. With the help of the allergy passport, we can rule out or take into account any contact allergies to dental prosthesis materials in our treatments.

referral

If you have received a referral from your dentist to one of our specialists, please bring it with you to your initial examination. Your dentist will then receive the diagnosis from our examinations afterwards.

Toothbrush

If you don’t have time to brush your teeth beforehand, you can simply do so at our practice before your appointment. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are available for your use. However, if you use a special toothpaste, please remember to bring it with you. Please allow a few extra minutes for brushing your teeth at our practice.

HOW DOES THE INITIAL EXAMINATION WORK?

During your first visit to our dental practice, no specific treatment will generally be carried out unless you have any complaints. During the initial examination, our dentists will first assess the health of your teeth. They will examine:

  • Your teeth for plaque, tartar and caries, as well as for fractures, damaged fillings and lack of vitality
  • Your gums for signs of periodontitis
  • The condition of your dentures
  • The position of individual teeth and your tongue
  • Your jaw joint and chewing muscles for disharmony and misalignment
  • Your oral mucosa, lips and lymph nodes, as well as
  • Your throat, face, head and neck for swelling, redness and tissue changes as possible signs of cancer

INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION ON ALL DENTAL SERVICES

If further appointments are necessary following the initial examination, we will inform you about your treatment options in a personal consultation. You are welcome to ask questions at any time. In consultation with our colleagues from the fields of implantology, periodontology, oral surgery, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry, we will then draw up a treatment plan that covers all further steps. This means we can always tell you exactly what we have achieved so far and how long the treatment is likely to take.

Full service under one roof

This guarantees short distances and high quality: we manufacture your dentures in our in-house high-tech dental laboratory. We use all common materials such as CEREC, titanium, gold, plastic and ceramics. On request, our dental technicians will come to your treatment chair to restore your radiant smile permanently by hand.

PREVENTIVE CARE FOR A LIFELONG SMILE

Even without subsequent treatment, we recommend that our patients schedule regular check-ups with their dentist after their initial examination. This allows us to detect and treat general diseases at an early stage before they worsen. Poor nutrition, eating disorders, poor oral hygiene, stress or malocclusion can also affect your health in the long term. During your initial examination, we will provide you with specific information and tips for healthy teeth and inform you about prophylaxis and professional teeth cleaning. All of these are ways to not only avoid complex procedures, but also reduce your treatment costs in the long term.

ANXIOUS PATIENTS ARE IN SAFE HANDS WITH US

Just the thought of visiting the dentist causes fear and discomfort for many people. That is why we take extra time for our anxious patients. We are delighted that you have found the courage to contact our practice. Patients with dental anxiety can get an appointment at KU64 at very short notice and do not have to wait long. The first appointment is solely for getting to know each other. We are happy to answer your questions in detail and give you our full attention.

We will also accompany you through the treatment. Unpleasant smells and noises can quickly lead to stress even before the treatment begins. We know that. We counteract this with special relaxation techniques, autogenic training or acupressure. To block out the disturbing noises of the dental instruments, we offer you music or audio plays. For longer treatments, you can watch a film with video glasses. We divide the treatment itself into small steps. This ensures sufficient breaks during which we can explain the next step to you.

We promise you: pain during dental visits is a thing of the past at KU64 Berlin. In our practice, we have many years of experience with sedatives and tranquillisers. On request, we can also carry out your treatment under general anaesthesia.

Our opening hours – as flexible as your everyday life

This means that we are available for you from Monday to Friday until 8 p.m. Our practices in Berlin on Kurfürstendamm and in BERLIN-MITTE are also open for you on weekends.
