Anesthesia – Pain-Free Treatment While Sleeping with General Anesthesia at the Dentist
Anesthesia and General Sedation for Dental Procedures
At KU64, both you and your little ones have the option of simply “sleeping through” the treatment. Fear of dental procedures, extensive dental restorations, or surgical interventions are all valid reasons for undergoing treatment under anesthesia or sedation.
Some forms of anesthesia are administered directly by our dentists, while others are handled by trained anesthesiologists. We work closely with a trusted team of external anesthesia specialists who have been supporting us for many years – ensuring our patients receive the best possible care before, during, and after the procedure.
Our reception team will be happy to arrange your appointment.
Types of Anesthesia at KU64:
Topical anesthesia: Applied as a fruity-flavored gel, it numbs the area and makes the following injection feel almost painless.
Local anesthesia: Used to achieve complete pain relief in over 95% of cases.
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas): A great option for kids as well as anxious adult patients. It significantly reduces or eliminates the gag reflex and noticeably lowers pain sensitivity.
Twilight sedation (conscious sedation): A gentle intravenous “comfort cocktail,” usually Dormicum and Propofol, is administered. This method is less demanding on the body than general anesthesia, and you remain responsive – though you typically won’t remember the treatment afterward.
General anesthesia: Intubation anesthesia (ITN) is typically used for surgeries or pediatric treatments. Whether for a lengthy procedure or a short intervention, our anesthesiologists combine years of experience with the latest medical technology.
By the way:
If desired, we can even administer an antidote at the end of the treatment to help the numb feeling wear off more quickly!
