Social commitment

More than teeth

The funding and support projects of the dental specialists of KU64

Every year, the dental specialists at KU64 support a number of non-profit projects (social responsibility projects) in Berlin, Germany and abroad. The projects do not see themselves as one-off funding and aid projects, but as long-term projects. If you would like to support us, please note the note at the bottom of this page!

Our South Africa Project

One of our most important projects is the treatment of an entire school in South African paternoster every January. The project WESTCOAST KIDS (www.westcoastkids.co.za) was initiated by our patient and foundation manager of LAUREATE Simone Jacke in cooperation with the non-profit Association BIG SMILE E.V. (International Institute for Caries Prophylaxis) from Hamburg and the dental specialists from KU64. “Sustainability is a declared goal of the project,” says dentist and KU64 owner Dr. Stephan Ziegler.” Finally, we want to make a valuable contribution to the long-term health of children in South Africa, for example. Accordingly, dental preservation and prevention are also our top priority in our treatments. And so the children are also trained to brush their teeth properly – because effective oral hygiene is also the best protection against tooth decay and periodontosis at this end of the world.

A big thank you to our partners

It is obvious that such an action is only possible with the help of strong partners: Numerous partners in the dental field have supported KU64’s commitment with generous donations in kind, including Henry Scheindepot, MIP GmbH, Smile Design Dentallabor, Voco GmbH, 3M Espe, Curaprox, Onedroponly, Camlog, MIP, multi-com.biz and Resorba, as well as the Ivoclar. But non-medical companies, such as Handelsplan AG, are also supporters of the campaign or the Strandloper Sea Villas, which sponsored KU64’s 3 houses where the KU64 team was housed throughout the treatment period.

We would also like to thank the small and large donors, because every contribution benefits the children. Special thanks to our generous donor from Schwielowsee (Brandenburg): Metallbau Böse GmbH

A selection of KU64 help projects

In addition to our involvement in South Africa, we also use the KU64 dental specialists for children’s aid projects at the local level, e.g. for the Ark and the Laughing Hearts initiative, as well as for the children’s and youth departments of numerous children’s sports clubs.

Praise and recognition

Of course, we are particularly pleased about the recognition by the Grenander Award 2011, which honours exceptionally service-oriented companies and social projects from the City Working Group. In the jury’s eulogy for KU64, special reference was made to the dental aid project in South Africa, which our team has been carrying out on a voluntary basis since 2009. “Exemplary and worthy of prize!” the jury judged. Thank you very much for that.
