WHAT TO DO IN THE EVENT OF A DENTAL ACCIDENT? FIRST HELP TIPS FOR THE SERVICE OF a ZAHNS THAT IS ABINUSED OR OUT

Seconds of inattention suffice, already you have overlooked something during sports, cycling or inline skating, slips away and falls. Unfortunately, tooth fractures and injuries are not uncommon, especially in children and adolescents.

But just because a tooth has been knocked out or broken, it doesn’t have to be lost forever. You can usually replant the tooth in the jaw. The prerequisite: FAST TRADE. A lost tooth must be searched, found and transported properly very quickly. Then it is best to get to KU64 quickly, so that the injured tooth can take its old place alive again.

  • 1. General: Keep calm and act quickly

    • Calm child
    • If there is heavy bleeding, press on gauze or a clean, lint-free piece of textile (e.g. a tissue), cool externally
  • 2. The tooth is knocked out / broken off

    • Search for tooth / tooth piece immediately
    • only touch the broken tooth by the tooth crown – not by the tooth root
    • never clean or disinfect the tooth
    • the sensitive root canal must not dry out, so immediately place the broken tooth in an SOS tooth rescue box (schools, swimming pools and sports halls should always be equipped with it. You can find more information here! The tooth rescue box can also be purchased from KU64). If none are available: Put the tooth in milk (approx. 1-2 hours) or isotonic saline solution (approx. 30 minutes) – only applicable for a very short time; worse healing results are to be expected
    • See a dentist as soon as possible
  • 3. The tooth is loosened / shifted

    • Leave the situation and do not manipulate the tooth
    • See a dentist as soon as possible
  • 4. The tooth is only partially visible

    • The tooth is shifted into the jaw
    • See a dentist as soon as possible
  • 5. The teeth no longer fit on top of each other

    • Either the jaw is dislocated or the lower or upper jawgebrochen
    • See a dentist as soon as possible
  • 6. The teeth do not look damaged, not even bleeding

    •  Consult a dentist anyway
    • Although nothing can be seen, e.g. the roots are broken. This can lead to consequential damage and complications later. The KU64 practice is open 7 days a week, our dentists take care of the treatment of children with chipped and broken teeth, document the case in detail and take over the registration at the accident insurance fund or insurance.
