INNOVATIVE PEDIATRIC ORTHODONTICS FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PEDIATRIC ORTHODONTICS?

Children’s orthodontics is concerned with the prevention and treatment of tooth and jaw malpositions in children. They are often the cause of chronic diseases (e.g. stomach and intestinal problems due to poor chewing and biting function, postural damage and resulting back pain, cheek misalignments, headaches due to tension, etc.).

Protruding teeth, for example, are particularly at risk in the event of a fall or blow. Tight teeth are difficult to clean, which can lead to tooth decay and gum disease. A deep bite can damage the tooth-holding apparatus. Incorrect bite function (e.g. cross bite) can lead to a crooked face and asymmetry throughout the body. Therefore, it is especially important for children to detect – and correct – a tooth malposition early on. For all these reasons, orthodontists must always keep an eye on the whole person – we at KU64 try to take this into account with a holistic therapy concept.

WHEN IS A KIEFERORTHOPÄDICAL TREATMENT FOR YOUR CHILD?

Only a dentist or orthodontist can determine whether orthodontic treatment is necessary. The diagnosis requires a complete medical and dental medical history, a clinical examination, footprints of the teeth and special X-rays as well as photographic photographs. On the basis of the data obtained in this way, the orthodontist or pediatric dentist can decide whether orthodontic treatment is recommended in a specific case and – in a positive case – develop the correct treatment plan for the patient.

KIEFERORTHOPÄDIE IN THE MILCHGEBISS OF CHILDREN:

Indications here are, for example, lousy bites that impair the bite function, cross bites, which can hinder the growth of a jaw, premature loss of milk tooth, as well as severe constrictions when permanent teeth cannot grow. With simple, mostly removable braces that the children wear in the afternoon and at night, we can have a very positive influence here, influence the body statics (see also holistic orthodontics) and thus take care of the well-being of their child. So-called active plates and functional orthodontic devices (Bionator/Fränkel) are used here.

However, when using removable braces, the cooperation and influence of parents on their child is often necessary to ensure consistent wearing of the orthodontic braces.

KIEFERORTHOPÄDIE IN THE CHANGE:

In most cases, the start of orthodontic treatment (fixed or removable braces such as Invisalign) is sufficient when the so-called second tooth change begins; usually at the age of about 9-10 years. At this time, the examination by our specialists is recommended in order to determine the appropriate therapy. The aim is to make room for all permanent teeth, to adjust the ratio of both jaws correctly to prevent jaw joint discomfort and back pain, and to place all remaining teeth in the jawbone according to the axis.

The aesthetics are given automatically in the manufactured function. We work here with removable braces, functional orthodontic devices, fixed equipment from the inside (Incognito) or outside and clear-sighted rails (Invisalign).

IF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES AT A KIND EXPERIENCE, THE ELTERN SHOULD BE A KIEFERORTHOPÄDIC EXPERIENCE:

  • Overbite – The upper front teeth are too far above the lower teeth.
  • Underbite – Here the teeth of the lower jaw are too far forward or the upper teeth too far backwards.
  • Open Bite – There is a gap between the cutting edge of the front teeth and/or the chewing surfaces of the cheek teeth when the posterior teeth are bitten together.
  • Non-symmetric centerline – If the center of the upper front teeth does not form a line with the center of the lower front teeth.
  • Distances – gaps or gaps between the teeth as a result of a missing tooth or of teeth that do not fill the jaw.
  • Constriction – If there is not enough space for the teeth on the jaw ridge.

EVERYTHING FOR A HEALTHY CHILDREN’ SMILING!

Each bite is as individual as its wearer. Therefore, an individual and precisely coordinated treatment concept as well as the cooperation of the parents is essential for the success of the treatment. Regular training of our orthodontists and the practice team guarantee competence at the highest level and a orthodontic treatment (also innovative methods such as Incognito or Invisalign) that takes into account the whole person.

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK FOR PEDIATRIC ORTHODONTISTS?

There are many different – fixed and removable – apparatuses, which can be used by light pressure on the jaw and teeth to move the teeth and enable the re-accustomation of the muscles as well as the influence of the jaw growth. Based on the nature and severity of the respective problem, it is determined which orthodontic treatment promises the greatest success in the specific case: a fixed braces such as multi-brackets consisting of brackets, ribbons or wires. Tapes are attached to the teeth and used as anchors for the apparatus, while brackets are usually glued to the front of a tooth.

ORTHODONTICS AND SPEECH THERAPY

Accompanying orthodontic treatment, an accompanying logopaedic treatment may be necessary to reconcile the functional pattern of the tongue and muscles and/or an osteopathic treatment to positively affect dysfunctions in the body, tension patterns in the fascia system and postural damage.

ALL WITH A LOT OF KNOW-HOW

Our dental specialists are in constant contact to create the best possible treatment plan for their child. Here, patients benefit from our unique concept of short distances, optimal coordination among colleagues and the latest high-tech devices. The further development of the techniques and materials has made possible, for example, the development of the almost metal-free and invisible braces, which it is of course also used in KU64. By the way, we only use tested and compatible materials and give long guarantees – far more than usual.

EVERYTHING FROM A SINGLE HAND

Our in-house and experienced dental laboratory ensures your guarantee of the highest quality with biocompatible materials.
